How does b2bquote work?

Buyers

If we look at an example of how the system works: -

A Buyer is looking to have a website built for approximately £1000 and wants a maximum of 5 quotes.

The Buyer will register first, login to their account and then enter their project requirements on the project form.

The Buyer will place their project in the designated product category. In this case "Web Design - Flash Animation". The Buyer has the option of adding an attachment that may be useful to the Supplier. The Buyer can submit questions to the Supplier. The Buyer enters the deadline and delivery dates, maximum number of quotes they want to receive and estimated budget cost.

Our specialist technology will then locate all Suppliers who have registered for "Web Design" and automatically notify them by e-mail of the project details.  At this time the only information passed to a Supplier are the Project details.

Once a supplier has quoted for the buyer's project the details of the supplier will be passed onto the buyer.

At all times Buyers can login to their accounts and review their projects, add new projects, update their contact details, review quotes and view Suppliers details.

Tips for posting projects

Please enter as much information as is needed because this will enable the Supplier to provide you with the most accurate quote.

If you already have a specification there is no need to re-type it in the project description box. Simply attach the document and type “please see attachment for project details” in the project description box. This can save you a considerable amount of time.

Please do not submit projects for less than £100 pounds sterling or submit bogus projects. All projects are checked by b2bquote.co.uk before they are displayed on our website.  Projects will usually be reviewed by b2bquote within 24 hours of submitting the project.  A Buyer can close a project at anytime and have the option of notifying all relevant Suppliers.

Quick Quotes

In order to speed up the process of contacting buyers with your requirements we have introduced a 'quick Quote' form.

You simply fill in the 'quick Quote' form and once it's approved by b2bquote it will be sent to all our suppliers under the relevant supplier category.

You do not need to register with b2bquote in order to use the 'quick Quote' facility.

Suppliers

Once a Supplier has subscribed they receive business to business projects, 'quick Quotes' and full detailed descriptions of  low and high value tenders that match their supplier category or categories.

Business to Business Projects

Suppliers can quote for projects posted by Buyers. These projects are generally low value and have a short deadline date.   If a Supplier has any questions they can ask the Buyer by filling in the questions on our Quote form. The Supplier can also e-mail the Buyer before a quote is submitted. This may be useful in gathering additional information to submit a more accurate quote. Once a Supplier has quoted the Supplier receives the Buyer's contact details.

Tips for quoting for projects

Be as precise as you can and provide as much information as possible.

Quote quickly as Buyers decide on the maximum number of quotes they want to receive, so the longer you leave it the greater the chance you have of missing out. If you are unable to quote because you need further information then you can e-mail the Buyer from the quote page or make sure you ask these questions when you submit the quote.

You can add up to 5 attachments that can help the Buyer in the decision making process.

It would be useful to include the unit cost and total cost in the boxes provided, as this information will assist the Buyer when they compare quotes. A Buyer can login to their account at anytime, review their quotes and make their decision. A Buyer can close a project at anytime and have the option of notifying all relevant Suppliers.

At all times Suppliers can login to their account to quote for projects, review current and previous quotes, update their company profile, contact details and view Buyers details.

Quick Quotes

As a subscribed supplier you will receive information posted by buyers when they submit a 'quick Quote' request.

You can either log in to b2bquote or receive an email to obtain the buyer's request and details as per the 'quick Quote'.

Tenders

Suppliers also receive full detailed descriptions of local authority tenders.  Tenders are submiited by the contracting authority in order to maximise competition, transparency of process and to ensure best value.  When replying to a tender there are certain procedures you must adhere to.

Tender Procedures

Three types of procedures exist amongst the tenders: Open, Restricted and Negotiated.

  • Open tenders are those where any interested company can submit a reply.
  • Restricted tenders are aimed at suppliers who have specialist expertise and whose suitability has been or will be assessed at a pre-qualification stage. Only selected suppliers will be invited to tender by the contracting authority.
  • Negotiated tenders are used when the contracting authority consults with several suppliers and negotiates the terms of the contract with one or more of them. This method can only be used in justified cases.

Collecting information: Contract notices etc give a brief description of what is required. They state how interested suppliers should register their interest. In order to receive more information or to clarify any parts you do not understand, please contact the awarding authority whose contact details will be supplied in the detailed description of the tender notice.

Remember:

  • Please be aware of when and where to return your bid (time, date and correct building).
  • Return the bid in an appropriate format as requested on the tender (don't change the order of the documentation, or submit alternative responses).
  • Sign and date the documentation where instructed.
  • Sometimes the information the authority receives from suppliers is unclear or needs further clarification. Make sure you provide any additional information sought by the closing date set.
  • The resources of other suppliers may be included in your tender as long as you supply proof of an arrangement between you and the other supplier.
  • Tender details must not mention products/services of a specific make, source, process or trademark. However, if it is absolutely essential to describe something by these terms, the words "or equivalent" must be used.
  • You will not be permitted to sub-contract an entire contract to another supplier.

b2bquote is one simple system that saves Buyers time and money, whilst at the same time enabling Suppliers the maximum opportunity to increase their business.
